Locate an Army Jeep For Sale in Original Shape Does Not have To Be Hard

Monday, May 4th, 2009

The state of the economy isn’t all bad; it’s a perfect time to buy a car! Prices have been slashed and dealerships are desperate to sell the vehicles on their lots, which are two great incentives to buy a car before things turn around. But is going to a dealership the best way to go about finding a new car? Maybe not. Especially when there are all sorts of places to find cars for sale on the internet. One specific vehicle that is found on the internet is army jeeps for sale.

Army jeeps came out in 1940, invented by John North Willys, an automobile salesman who saw a unique opportunity. An auto salesman, he was contracted by the military to build army jeeps for World War II. By the time the war was over, 360,000 jeeps had been manufactured. They are considered collectors items today. In that day, Bantam and Ford were competing to get a large military contract, but Willys Jeeps won out because of their 60 horsepower engine that easily beat out Bantam and Ford.

Soon after the jeeps were produced, Willys expanded to invent the truck in 1947 and by 1965, 200,000 trucks had come off the production line. It was around this time that Americans and overseas military started getting interested in the jeep and buying them and thus, an American classic was born. Today, due to their status as collectors’ items, the Internet is the best way to find army jeeps for sale.

There are so many benefits to buying a jeep. They are cool to look at, have four-wheel drive, can be used with a hood or as a convertible, and are steady, reliable vehicles that have been around for over 100 years. More often that not, any army jeep you find for sale on the internet will need some work. You need to be committed to the love of army jeeps for sale if you want to own one because they will need care, time, and possibly some new parts.

When you consider purchasing an army jeep for sale, be sure to look for rusting on the top, sides, and undercarriage. Jeeps from the north and southeast will probably have more rust as those areas are much more humid, but don’t forgo a jeep just because of some rust. Rust can do some damage, but it can be repaired. When you find a jeep you love, don’t let a little rust deter you. As any jeep enthusiast knows, buying a classic army jeep for sale is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Making Suncatchers Is Not Complicated!…

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

I find that suncatchers are a charming item and people always seem to admire them. They can be made in endless ways and with different items. Stained glass appears to be in great demand, but they are quite often made from plastic sheeting, which I am about to explain for novices. These items are so artistic yet often so very easy to make yourself and you will find that old and young people alike, really appreciate them!

There are so many of them around today which is not at all surprising as they would brighten up anybody’s day, just looking at the light coming through them. There is no shortage of places that they can be hung either, so they are a welcomed item.

This one I am about to explain really is intended for a window, but of course the choice is up to you. So, now for your basic requirements. A roll of lead tape, glass paints and thinner, a tube of glass outliner, paintbrush, rubber suction hook, 2cm length of string and a pot for water. Plus, of course, an acrylic sheet in A5 size and a design for you to paint on your sheet.

If you do not want to use your own design I am sure that they must be readily available in most art suppliers, but it is more personal if you design your own.

The first step to take is to remove the film from the acrylic sheet. Continue then by cutting a length from your lead taping. The backing will need to be peeled off and then stuck along the edging of the acrylic sheet.

Of course we need something to hang this by, so we need a hook. For this you will require your string and a piece about 4cm long of your lead tape. You take the string and place this inside the tape, leaving it open at the end. Then you can go ahead and stick this to one of your edges on the sheet to make this hook to hang it from.

Next step, place your pattern sheet under the acrylic sheet and then you can draw your design with your tube of outliner from the pattern. Wait for this to dry.

Using your glass paints you can then start filling in your designs. This could take a little while to dry, so I would most probably leave it overnight. Now, if you have used glass paints with solvent in them, you will need to wash and clean your brushes with the thinner.

However, if you have used water based paints, just rinse and wash your brushes in water. The final touch will be to stick the suction hook on your window or door and hang your suncatcher. Let the light stream through it and get pleasure from it every day. Once you have made one you can get more adventurous and go on to make different varieties, and you need never wonder about what gifts to buy for people again.
